All throughout the year, events are organised for Communication Science alumni. You can catch up with former fellow students, meet new people, stay informed of the latest developments in the field and further your professional knowledge.
The Alumni Circle Communication Science is keen to help you keep up with the latest trends in communication. As a member, you are welcome to attend various lectures, presentations and company visits thoughout the year - free of charge and after working hours. Previous events include lectures on the ins and outs of content marketing, the future of ad campaigns and the power of gamification, as well as company visits to Tony’s Chocolonely and research agency MeMo2.
There is also the option of attending our interview series Communication Science on the Spot, designed for Graduate School students and alumni who want to learn more about communication science in practice. We have previously welcomed speakers from Twitter, Netflix and Google Benelux.
Joining the Alumni Circle Communication Science offers numerous benefits. To get you started as a young professional, you are entitled to use services offered by the Student Careers Centre at a reduced or no charge. If you would like to keep on learning after graduation, you can attend Open UvA Courses at a substantial discount as well as maintain access to the UvA's library facilities and several online databases. Keen to not only keep your brain in shape but your body as well? Members of the Alumni Circle receive a hefty discount on University Sports Centre (USC) memberships and on classes held there. Lastly, the university’s close links with the city of Amsterdam means discounts at various cultural centres, like the Foam photography museum, the Hermitage, Amsterdam City Walks and exhibitions at the Nieuwe Kerk, to name but a few.
The Graduate School of Communication is always happy to welcome back enthusiastic alumni who are proud of where they studied. Would you like to share your professional expertise and unique experience with Communication Science students and alumni in the form of a guest lecture or workshop? Or host a company visit at your current employer? Don’t hesitate to contact the Alumni Circle Communication Science: firstname.lastname@example.org
