About the School

The Graduate School of Communication is the first and only Graduate School in Communication in the Netherlands. The school is a dynamic, multifaceted institution marked by high academic standards, an international atmosphere, and a vibrant academic community.

The Graduate School of Communication offers several MSc programmes in the field of Communication. Students graduated at the School have become professionals in media, marketing communications, corporate communication, political communication, journalism, or media entertainment. The two-year Research Master's programme is an excellent preparation for a PhD programme.

The University of Amsterdam (UvA) has for decades enjoyed a reputation as one of the most vibrant universities on the European continent. The UvA has particular strength in the social and behavioural sciences, and a large and diverse group of students from many parts of the world.

The Graduate Schools of the University of Amsterdam aim to ease the transition between the Master's and PhD level, deliver graduates with strong research skills to follow professional careers, and create a supportive environment with scholars excelling in a specified field of expertise. Graduate Schools offer exceptional services, activities and events that enhance graduate study.
